Working with customers (customer partnership board)

Our aim is to strengthen the customer voice at a strategic level within our business and ensure that decision making in relation to homes and services is significantly influenced by customer insight and engagement. One way we are doing this is through the creation of a new customer partnership board.

Meet the customer partnership board (CPB)

The new members of the CPB have been appointed and will hold their first formal meeting on 24 January 2019.

Naheed Ejaz has been appointed the Chair of this new customer engagement board and eight other customers have been appointed for their life experiences, passion and understanding of the role.

She has a deep passion for raising a voice for and representing society. She is a Silva Homes customer and has lived in Bracknell for 34 years raising her family of five children, gaining a good knowledge of the local area and community.

Naheed commented: "I am delighted to be appointed the chair of this pioneering Customer Partnership Board at Silva. This is the first time that Silva customers are going to be involved in strategic decision making which is a very exciting prospect. I see this as an opportunity to amplify the voices of our community and further build stronger communication between Silva and its customers. I look forward to working with all the board members, Silva staff and the customers."

Naheed has an MA in political science she has an in-depth understanding of disability and has worked with special needs children for over 12 years running a special needs transport business.

Currently Naheed is working with a group for disadvantaged adults to equip them with personal and business skills and training for better integration through education and to create opportunities for marginalised communities.

During December 2018 and January 2019, a full induction and training programme will be provided to members so this new board can be effective as soon as possible.

What the CPB does

The CPB will have two key roles:

  • To work closely with our leadership on the big issues that affect Silva and its strategic direction
  • To make sure that our approach to using customer insight and engagement is right in each situation and that this insight is taken into account when we make decisions that affect customers, their homes and their communities.

The meeting dates for the CPB are:

  • 24 January 2019
  • 14 March 2019
  • 25 April 2019
  • 13 June 2019
  • 25 July 2019
  • 25 September 2019
  • 24 October 2019 (Joint event with the Silva Board)
  • 5 December 2019
